The objects were collected by Captain George Frederick Wallace Brindley (1874-1901) 2nd Manchester Regiment, during the Second Boer War. They are all housed within a glazed mahogany display case with the most fantastic orange, autumnal silk velvet. This must have been assembled shortly after the arrival of the objects from South Africa. The objects include a wirework gourd, several beadwork necklaces, a shell and sea urchin necklace, various bracelets, a spoon, pipe etc.
There is a brass memerial placque dedicated to him in St, James' Church Gretton, Corby, erected by the vilagers and friends.
